What is Pipe?
A self-hostable unified inbox + AI second brain. All your chat and email (WhatsApp, email, Telegram, SMS, Signal, Slack…) in one place, with an AI that reads, summarizes and replies in your voice — on your own server.
Which channels does it connect?
WhatsApp, Gmail and Outlook, Telegram, Teams, SMS, Signal, Slack, Discord, Instagram — plus Notion, Google Calendar and Drive. Voice recordings (Plaud, memos, meetings) are transcribed automatically and land as notes.
Is my data private?
Yes. Pipe is self-hosted and open source (MIT): your messages, media and a daily encrypted backup live on your server, never ours. The AI runs locally by default; sensitive jobs never leave your box.
Do I need to code, or have Claude, to install it?
No. A one-command installer sets it up, or use Docker. Optionally an AI agent (Claude Code) can install it for you — but every step also works by hand.
How much does it cost?
Self-hosting is free forever (open source). There's an optional managed version if you'd rather we install and maintain it for you.
Can I reply from one place?
Yes. Reply on WhatsApp, email, Signal, Slack or Telegram from a single thread per person, drafting in your own voice.
Can I use my own AI assistant?
Yes. Pipe ships an MCP connector: plug in Claude or any MCP client and it can search and read your inbox, and — if you enable it — reply with your confirmation. Read-only by default, zero egress, every call audited.
